12/14/2016 ADA Repair comes to diagnose a washing machine issue. Technician indicates the bearings need to be replaced.
1/4/2017 After following up with ADA 3 times for an update; 2 technicians' come to replace the bearings. After taking the machine completely apart, they discover a hole in the drum that can only be seen from the interior of the machine. They take photos and tell me that 3 additional parts must be ordered. They leave the machine unassembled, leaving the parts in the drum of the machine and advise me to follow up in a couple of days.
1/7/2017 I receive a voice mail message from American Home Shield indicating my claim has been denied because ADA Repair has submitted a diagnosis report indicating the hole in the washer tub was drilled by me. Given their diagnosis is that the homeowner caused the damage that lead to the bearings going bad, the entire claim is denied. I called American Home Shield for more information. I explained to the representative that the hole was discovered on the repair companies second visit and only after the entire machine was taken apart. I explained that the inference that I would completely take apart the washing machine to drill a hole made no sense. Now I am dealing with a 2nd opinion repair company that won't diagnosis anything because ADA left the machine unassembled. I am still without a functioning washing machine and am being forced to allow ADA to come back to assemble the machine in order for AHS to consider covering the machine at all. I would just buy a new machine and walk away, but I paid over $500 for the warranty and feel they should be asking in good faith. I have yet to understand what ADA got out of blaming the damage on me other than good will with AHS as they had a reason to not pay out anything.
