  • You are more likely to see a purple dragon than you are to find a LCBO open downtown past 10pm! I was strolling down the street at Wellesley and Yonge and remembered that the Wine Rack up the street was still open. You see I was invited to a housewarming and at the last minute was able to attend. Despite the last minute change, I didn't want to show up with: a) no gift for the hostess and b) no booze for me I walked in and one of the clerks stocking the shelves greeted me and said if there was anything I was looking for that wasn't on the floor she could help. I told her that I was looking for a bottle of wine for a friend but I didn't know what she drank (quite frankly this was the type of friend who would drink Drano if it were alcoholic!) The clerk suggestion a Sauvignon Blanc as a safe bet. I'll agree with Venessa G. and say it sucks that they only carry Ontario wines, but in my case it was better than nothing and the service was good.
