| - The Bagel Shoppe was recommended by a lady we met over Shabbat, so we had to see if they met Chicago's standards.
The bakery was tine and warm, with a limited selection of flavors...plain, poppy, sesame, onion, garlic & everythng. They also make coffee cakes and cookies.
They looked marvelous, smelled better. The owner sliced them for us. The texture looked really good, not too dense, not too squishy, and not monstrous in size.
Taste was so-so. Something missing. Like malt syrup, or salt, or something. With some cream cheese, onion and a couple slices of nova it passes, but on its own, no. Chicago wins.
