| - Right when we pulled in front to register for this hotel, the security guard was friendly and helpful about parking. Front desk staff was friendly and made adjustments to our reservation cheerily for a handicapped room. I should note that this hotel has no overly inflated resort fees like the others I looked at. The room was clean and big and the beds were super comfy! The refrigerator was a big help for insulin and leftovers. Hot water for the entire shower, and the rooms got cleaned promptly when we left to go out. All the employees were really really friendly!
Ruth, a night floorperson at the poker table was especially friendly and helpful for me while I adjusted to a new structure of limit poker. Dealers knew what they were doing.
Norma, a waitress at the Victory, had such a cheery disposition to all the patrons, even while missing a bus boy and being short staffed. Honestly the food at the cafe was lacking in flavor- really wanted to try the pizza at the pizzaria cause it smelled great- but didn't get a chance.
The buffet had great salad and fruit fixings, and the fried okra was excellent. Meats and entrees were flavorless, definitely needed seasoning.
There were lots of slots for all levels of betting and the poker room accommodates both low and high rollers by using "over" buttons and 2-6 spread. Great for ordinary folks just wanting a comfortable place to gamble.
The pool was clean and big enough for laps and almost always empty.
Bingo caller was new and called way too fast, and didn't explain the sheets well, but I don't think that is the norm. (Thank goodness for a regular player who clued us in)
The movie theater is great- comfy seats and clean with new releases.
The gift shop had cute clothes and jewelry at VERY reasonable prices.
If you need/want to be directly on the strip or are a HIGH roller then this is not the place for you.
If you want a happy relaxed place to play slots poker and bingo, watch movies, and swim - then I highly recommend this homey casino and hotel!
