I've been to this shopping center a few times in the past, many years ago. Lots of choices here for consumers.
A few months ago, we came here to this store, to grab lunch ($10.53 for all us to eat) and get some veggies (avocados, 2 colors- bell peppers, limes, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers) to make salsa plus bananas (the total was $6.85). Normally, we go to the DI one, but we were in this area shopping at other stores nearby, too---it just made sense to stop here. Lots of people eating and shopping here. It's clean. There is always a lot of buzz at the meat counter at these stores. I noticed that in this grocery crowd there was a bit more my peeps type (at DI, I'm usually the only one, plus my son, who is mixed race). So, it's more like 90% latino, and 10% everything else.
We got lunch first before shopping. I kept telling my husband that the tacos are really good here; back at my credit union days, the girls always ordered tacos once or twice a week (from the DI one). I chose a chicken taco and a carne asada taco (think street tacos), and hubby got the carne asada burrito (pretty big), plus rice and beans for the little man. There is a salsa bar on the side, with a sign stating it's only for customers at the counter. The specials are written and posted on top of the main menu. Overall, the meal was tasty (no grease), our boy ate up the rice and beans (yummy), and hubby was surprised that it was good.
The produce section is a little bit of a tight squeeze in spots, especially when you and other people are pushing strollers. At least, there was an understanding about that, and people weren't rude about it.
The lines were a bit long, but it seemed to go fast. The cashier was nice. If we were on this side of town again, I'd stop in again for lunch and veggies. Ok, and maybe some tacos.
