I came here for a friend's wedding and I was also part of the group helping for the setup. This place is beautiful. Everything is nice from the room to the lobby. There are many location in the building that would be good for pictures but at times there might be people walking by that would be in your picture. In terms of the service for the wedding, I believe they can be better. The manager is with you the whole night and day but the set up took rather long and we didn't have enough table out in the reception area. Before the actually wedding day, they would also prepare a schedule with you which I think is great as I don't see many places work with you like that. Food server needs some serious training. They pretty much force you to have some d'oeuvres by putting the platter right in your face. Another thing is that they couldn't setup the cake table in time and it wasn't cut. The manager has to come out and cut the cake for everyone. I would say the food is good for large group of 100 people.
For the food. The first course was Caprese Salad. The salad looks great served in a martini glass. The main attraction was the sorbet which act as the vinaigrette for the salad. To me this was a bit sweet for the first course and lack the acid require for the salad. The second course we had was a Wild Ontario Mushroom soup. This soup taste good, rich flavour of mushroom. One thing I would prefer is that it should be more creamy but this can be my personal preference. Next up was a Grapefruit and Campari sorbet to help cleanse your palette. You can taste the fresh grapefruit in this which was a plus. The entree that I had was Pan Seared Fillet of Alberta Beef with potato gratin and green beans and asparagus. The sides was amazing. The beef was average. It was cooked medium to medium well. I would say they did a good job on this already and many banquet hall would likely to cook it well done. I do still see a bit of pink in the meat and it wasn't tough to chew. But to me the cheese and beef never go well together. I would preferred if they left the cheese out of the picture or add that to the potato instead. The last course which was the dessert was a passion fruit mousse. This is quite amazing dish. It was nicely presented in a cup of white chocolate. The passion fruit with the mousse is light and creamy and not too sweet.
Overall, for what you pay for, you do get the same quality in terms of the food. I do enjoy my night here but it is rather expensive.
