| - I have been an avid Southwest Airlines flyer forever, but due to time constraints my Girlfriend and I booked my flight via American Airlines. It was a different world to say the least, and a first impression that will make me strive for a Southwest Airlines flight on my next trip.
My Girlfriend was prompted with a free luggage check-in upon original ticket purchase; however, when we used the kiosk at the airport, we were charged $25.00 ( Can we say bait and switch? ). Then the attendant at the airlines desk, should could use for some personality and bed-side manner training. I totally get security, but her demeanor and treatment almost made me re-think if I was going to get pulled aside for fake ID use.
Then they switched gates without letting anyone at the original gate know. There was no screen prompts, speaker announcements, etc. I found out only because my phone app notified me. When I asked the attendant at the switched gate, in concern for people at the original gate, it was an attitude of "Oh Well" as there seemed technically nothing more she could do.
Then a delay with the plane, with absolutely no information from the captain or crew, as time went by and also our options to find alternate ways to our destination. Our stress level was flying high to say the least...
All in all, it was just bunch of issues and lack of customer service that made this experience and me a non-returning customer...
