| - Around four months into my contract. Things are pretty great.
?? Lots of options. Classes for people who like classes. Machines for people like machines. Free weights for people like free weights. Family swim is available on the weekends at the West and East locations.
Wish lap swimming anytime was allowed for kiddos who can lap swim at west & newly acquired fitchburg. Children are not allowed to do anything at Fitchburg except sit in the dark windowless room. There should be daylight in there & the paint on the walls should not be dark.
Fitchburg Sauna light has been out about a week in female locker room. Dirty rag has been on the counter in female locker room for 2 months.
Mats are ripped up at Fitchburg.
West eucalyptus room has members blowing their noses on the ground, and coughing up phlegm. Another man blew his nasal secretions into the hot tub. The resistance pool smells like mildew and has dirt on the bottom. Sauna smells like ammonia likely from urine.
Most west classes are okay but very irregular. Frequently having different instructors make the classes unappealing. Never very close to the same routine. Counting differently then one another, even the timing itself varies with a couple instructors. For example a four count move might actually be four counts with the instructor at one point and two or three counts with the instructor later during the same class. Instructors will sometimes have depressingly sad music spewing woes and problems for an entire class, and other times upbeat or empowering music. One spin class last month the Woman played explicit rap about getting shot, locked up, fellatio, hoes, and other words for women, played depressing blues or soul music, depressing everything. I had to leave the class.
I very much enjoy the classes at fitchburg. Also Wednesday evening spin is a great class at the West club.
Most of the fitchburg classes are simply amazing as are most of the instructors. There are a couple of instructors who do moves, and oddly don't say what they're doing.
West Child watch is bright, surrounded by windows, with lots of things for kiddos to do. If only the fitchburg instructors were at the west gym. With the exception of a couple of great west instructors.
The price is comparable to other area fitness facilities. Members who sign up for two-year contracts receive extra discounts then the membership is less than any area full gym to the best of my knowledge. Even the YMCA fitness center would charge a significant amount. Main location members have access to Princeton club Xpress locations as well.
