| - Full disclosure, I've had Classpass for about 5 minutes and this was my very first barre class ever. I even had to buy socks here because I didn't own any "grippy socks" - on that note, I wish they had different sizes of socks because the socks kept moving around and slipping off my small feet.
Barre is some kick-your-ass kind of workout. As an outsider, I always thought it looked kind of easy and didn't really get what the all the buzz was. Boy, was I wrong. I left this class exhausted and felt productive. I was dripping sweat the whole way through the class, too.
I called Xtend before I booked the class to ask about the class, socks, and my very sore calf - they were very helpful in explaining to me that the class was adaptable to my needs, which it really was. My calves gave me no issues during the class and actually felt better afterwards.
The staff and instructor for my first class here were very friendly, non-judgemental, and as I've said - adaptable. Rachel, though she was super fast in doing the moves and you just had to learn as you went, came around multiple times to make sure I had proper form. She was also very encouraging and motivating. She gave me both a quick tour before the class and told me how things worked, as well as followed up with me afterwards to see how my calves were and how I felt in general.
I'll definitely be returning to Xtend in the upcoming weeks I'm here in Charlotte. Great first experience!
