| - Came her with mom for a birthday brunch last weekend. We have lived in Pittsburgh, specifically the East End, since 99, and have never been here. They do have complimentary valet which is nice, however we found a spot right out in front. When we walked in, I was surprised at how large it was. I didn't realize it was so big from walking past it numerous times throughout the years. We sat outside which was great as it was very sunny and warm. There were a lot of families, couples, and friends around which was nice to see the diverse crowd. Our waitress Jamie was excellent! She answered all of our questions and was gracious and kind. We were given delicious bread and honey butter for the table. One of the breads had kumquats which was so good! Mom and I both had mimosas with our brunch. I started with the roasted beet salad with ricotta, greens, herbs, and green lentils (no almonds as I have an allergy) and mom started with the crispy calamari and rock shrimp with lemon aioli and agrodolce. Everything was so delicious and filling. The beets had a great flavor and mom's shrimp was done perfectly! For our main meal, I ordered the orecchiette with grilled chicken, goat cheese, and dried cranberries. Mom had the sea scallops with caramelized onions, scrambled eggs, white corn grits, and a croissant. Mom's grits were so creamy and delicious that I ordered a side serving for myself. Honestly, we took most of the entrees home because we were stuffed from the appetizers. The food was delicious, portions are nicely sized. We had absolutely no complaints! We looked at the dessert menu and ordered two dark chocolate and raspberry bread puddings to go. Jamie was so sweet that she wrote instructions on our container so we can cook it properly when we got home, which was a very nice touch. Mom's bill came to about $80 or so which was nice. All in all, we will definitely be returning!
