One cycle's studio is beautifully designed, their music and lighting are awesome, but the quality of classes are way below what I would expect from a studio.
1. Instructors do not ensure that participants are set up properly on their bikes, even newbies (or that was my experience the couple of times that I went there). A good way to ruin your knees is to go hard a few times a week with your bike set up incorrectly.
2. Doing push ups and crunches and swaying side to side while on the bikes might seem like a full body workout, but its hard to do with proper form and puts everyone at risk for injuring themselves. Plus the instructors have the room very very dark so they are unable to offer feedback on the participants' form during class
3. The classes are usually packed and poorly ventilated. It might feel like a better workout because you are soaked with sweat, but being overheated doesn't = better fitness. It just means you sweated more.
I wanted to love One cycle and their beautiful, stylish studio but I think I'll stick to studios that focus on the quality of their classes.
