  • I am so disappointed to have to write this review. I really want to like Marty's Market, but the experiences just haven't warranted anything but a disappointing review. My son and I tried it once a few weeks ago and it was fantastic, but was during the week. Wonderful breakfast tacos, great coffee and a beautiful waffle with a ton of fresh fruit. Here is where it goes downhill. I brought my daughter back there because my son and I wanted to show it off, this was now on a Saturday. Terrible service, took 45 minutes to get food, cold coffee, burnt potatoes, and absolutely zero recognition of their poor service. The owner at Marty's is great, but she was so overwhelmed that day, she didn't notice our service and food was bad. So, because we had such a great first experience, I decided to bring my wife back there to try it for the third time, to break the tie essentially. I didn't think it could get worse, but it did. They were out of tortillas for the breakfast tacos, mind you, they told me 20 minutes after we ordered our food. No refills on the coffee until I asked for it 30 minutes later. Apparently they had changed their menu and no longer offered the fruit on the waffle, so for $7 or $8 you got a plain waffle. It took another 10 minutes to get anyone to give us syrup. From there, my wife's order did not have something specific that she had asked for. The potatoes were once again burnt and again the service was so so slow. To top off the experience, after eating half the waffle, my son said it was a bit sour. I asked, "sour"???? Well, I tasted it myself and guess what, it was very sour. So, they either decided to make a sourdough type waffle or they used rotten milk/dairy product. Either way, it was easily the worst waffle I have ever had, that includes the fair! So, to the owner of Marty's and all that work there, you have a great atmosphere and an opportunity to be one of the best places to eat, but training is required, need some help in the kitchen and make sure there is someone walking around to make sure things are going well. BTW, I have never left a review on Yelp, it was bad enough for me to get an account and post this review in the hopes something will change and they become the restaurant they can be.
