| - This is where I get my daily morning cup. I went to Italy a few years ago and was proselytized to the ways of the Italian cappuccino. It's difficult to find a cappuccino "done right" here in the US, but Simpatico has mastered the art. For those of you that appreciate a real capp, this is your salvation. You can get it to go, or in a ceramic mug for that little extra authenticity. But there's more: they serve locally roasted coffee and a variety of iced drinks.
Food: they have a great baked goods vendor and I often get a croissant, scone, or PB cookie for breakfast; pretty good.
I'm a coffee addict but I think the majority of their clientele actually loves them for their smoothies, juices, and health drinks. I don't indulge but the line is always uber long for them.
Finally, the atmosphere... it's located in the lobby of the old Alcoa building, a classic mid-century modern tower (it's like a page out of Mad-Men), and across the street from Mellon Plaza, a classic MCM park. They just completely rebuilt their shop with a beautiful quartz countertop and low profile, ultra modern kiosk.
