  • Brasserie V on Monroe Street in Madison, WI First let's talk about the experience. This is a beautiful bar. It's covered in dark wood paneling, the lighting is low, and it is great for small to medium groups. I wouldn't go with a large group because it gets really packed. Every time I have gone I have also had amazing service! This time our waiter was funny, helpful with the menu and pointed out items he enjoyed, and knowledgable of the specials. I would give this guy 5 stars. He was awesome. It took a while to get our food, but this could be because we were there at prime time dinner hour. For food we had the grouper, the V burger, and the mussels. The food was just absolutely delicious! Well... The grouper was ok, but I tasted everything, and I guess other people ordered better than I did. The V Burger is probably one of my favorites in Madison. Then the mussels... There are only a few places in Madison that you can go for good Mussels, and this place is one of them. I am docking this place to a 4/5 because the food took forever to come out and because my grouper wasn't that great. Other than that, this place was awesome!
