My first outing to Donovan's was by far the best. The customer service was out of this world... Unfortunately every other time after this it diminished bit by bit. But I'm hear to speak about my most recent and regrettably, my last trip there. I always order my steaks/lamb chops medium rare. Well tonight we were celebrating my fourth week of pregnancy, I had just found out that morning, I thought- let's give it one more shot! It started off well and continued until I received my lamb chops. They were red and raw in the middle. Normally I would probably not mind but as a new mother-to-be a friend had instructed me to order my meats medium or more done- so this is what I did. I did not think I needed to consult the menu guide, silly me- as I said I have been ordering my steaks/meats medium rare for FOREVER and I prefer them this way. But the little girl or gal under construction needed a more cooked meal. To me medium is MAYBE a bit pink, not red, and definitely not raw. Again, my apologies I didn't read the menu from top to bottom... When I alerted the waitress to the fact that my lamb chops were "severely undercooked" she decided it was an appropriate situation to berate and condescend. This was not necessary. I'm sad because I want to love it here. A lot of the staff has been here forever and I looked forward to their familiar faces- the man who works at the bar and serves up the delicious sandwiches at happy hour is one. I just wanted to let everyone on Yelp know the food is good, but it comes with a price, literally and figuratively. Come prepared with full pockets and a sturdy back bone, because if you make any of the servers just a bit offended they will definitely make you pay the price.
