| - I judged, yes I did. Going in, I am thinking "hipster social club" where everyone knows everyone and the record stops when outsiders show up with their unbearded faces and J Crew clothing.
This is in NO way the case at Bayardstown Social Club.
Sure, there are people that know people, but we felt comfortable from the beginning. Everyone was super nice and helpful. The community picnic tables lead to meeting new people, in which we did. People just sit with other people and chat away sharing food and drinks, napkins and bottle openers.
This is a BYOB (glass bottles are OK, this includes liquor) and BYO Food (grills on site) or order a pizza, eat from the Food Truck (check their social media for which one). You can bring a chair, a board game and a dog, a hula hoop. It seems that there is an "Anything goes" (within Reason) mentality and I dig it. Heck, they have an ongoing game of Stump (FYI tossing hammers are involved)
If I lived closer and wanted a "backyard", i would definitely join. Going back soon for a picnic and some music.
