| - For some time now this store has had it coming. A complete and total mess is what you'll find at Giant Eagle Market District - Oxford Drive. For years my wife and I have come here only sparingly as it is simply an awful experience. From finding a parking spot in the Heinz Field-sized lot to navigating the baffling, inexplicable store layout to the fleecing at the cash register- it's a miserable chore to come here. Many better, more convenient options exist in almost all directions nearby. To be clear, this store has earned a 1-star rating prior to the recent incident that has motivated me to write this review, which is described as follows: On 8/7/16, my wife had ordered a "Curbside Express" service, wherein she pre-ordered our groceries online, and scheduled a "pick-up" for the next day. This is not the first time we have used the Curbside Express service. With this service, we sacrifice product quality for convenience, or at least the convenience of avoiding the inside of the store. Usually with this service, we are disappointed in the seemingly lesser quality deli products, bread that's not quite fresh- stuff that seems to have been leftover or not of the quality one would expect while visiting the store in-person. Anyway, today our 1/2 lb. of swiss cheese was filled with flecks and scraps of what I assume is ham. Totally disgusting. See the attached photos. If cross-contamination between deli products exists in this most blatant form, what other unsanitary practices are practiced at this store? Good thing we don't have any apparent food allergies. Not only is this store inconvenient, unnecessarily expensive and annoying to shop in, it's also unclean. We will not be back.
