| - I'd give this event a 3.5 stars & let me explain why.
Pros:
1-Great variety of food trucks setup throughout the esplanade ~50 in total
2-Free admission & near metro station
3-Booze available (Beer,wine & alcohol)
4-Seating available (limited but still there)
5-Credit/debit available at many vendors
6-Many bathrooms available (port-o-potty & "fancier" mobile trailers)
7-Very clean &well maintained,I saw great staff from the esplanade making sure the garbages & recycling bins were emptied promptly & efficiently
Cons:
1-Busy as hell
2-Many vendors did not display clearly what methods of payment they accepted, that can be easily remedied
3-Prices are marked up
4-No defined lines for the different vendors
5-People are idiots,that's right,I wrote it
I loved the poutine bavaroise with chicken schnitzel from the schnitzel truck @ das food truck by le gras dur. The schnitzel was perfectly breaded with a great lemony zing to it. I would be happy to try it in the restaurant. For this event, the 13$ was worth the quality/quantity that I received. They were ranked #1 as the best poutine for 2014-2015 & #3 for 2016 in poutine week, totally worth it & I waited ~10-15 minutes which I think is reasonable.
A friend went to grumman'78 & got the ancho taco. She only got 1 taco for 7$,seriously. She said it was really good but at that price you can be a decent vendor & put 2.
We then went to lo's limonade & I got to say I was disappointed. At 5.50$/glass,the taste was not up to part & they only accept cash.
I think this event is genius, there's room for improvement as any event does but I think it's a great beginning to a Friday night. Luckily for me,most of the trucks and restaurants they represent are close enough to my house for me to enjoy them minus the crowds.
