This trip was a quick lunch. I had the ramen and some heirloom tomato salad. The salad had a nice flavor and the tomatoes, onions and cucumber were all fresh. The dish was nicely plated and the colors were pretty.
The ramen broth had nice flavor, although the accompaniment beyond the slab of sliced pork belly was a little sparse. The sweet boiled egg added some texture and richness above and beyond the fatty pork belly that had a bit of sweet sauce (teriyaki-style?) on it. That was maybe a missed opportunity to add some spice by putting a chili sauce on that instead of contributing more sweetness to the dish? I have eaten a lot of ramen at many places and the noodles in this dish were about average. Nothing set the noodles apart and they could have been from a package as far as I could tell, but it was a big bowl and I left the lunch table full and happy. (Sure, I ordered *ramen* at a *sushi* place... I didn't expect the noodles to be a star.)
