  • I had been going to Dr. Henderson for several months for my PCOS and Endometriosis. I should have known when I made my first appointment just by the price ($350 cash) this wasn't the place for me. However Marie was really persuasive so I kept my appointment. My first appointment was made for 9 am (when they open) so I could be the first appointment of the day. I still ended up waiting and hour to be seen! When I first met Dr. Henderson I thought of him as cold and rude with no bedside manner at all. I had several appointments after that and the last three appointments the nurse actually had to ask me why I was there. Apparently he didn't take notes and there is no communication in that office. Every appointment I waited at least an hour to be seen and my appointments were very brief (5-10 minutes). Yesterday I called to get my prescription refilled (which I had done a few times previous). Unfortunately I got the "office manager " on the phone. Shiela informed me that they do not do prescriptions that way and I needed to come in for an appointment. When I stated I never did that before she put me on hold (for the third time). She came back and said that she has "been with Dr. Henderson for 21 years" and this is the policy yada, yada, yada. She also stated how Marie and Alma (? I assume the nurse) didn't know what they were doing and so on. She then asks if I had surgery and I said no. I finally relent and make an appointment for the next day. Meanwhile she is basically calling me a drug addict. Mind you my previous prescription was written on 1/19/15 for a week supply of pills. I did threaten to find a new doctor due to the way she treated me. The next day comes (today) and I purposely arrive half an hour early because I figured I would be in and out since I am just getting a prescription. WRONG. First at my appointment time Marie informs me I have to pay my co pay for an office visit when I question it saying it should be classified as a consultation (and should be free) she rebutted with its what the paper says. Okay whatever no biggie (even though I thought it was ridiculous). Almost an hour past my appointment time I get called back. Once again the nurse asks why I am there. I told her just to get a refill. She looked at me crazy and asked why I have an appointment for that. I told her the office manager told me I had to. She flips the page on my chart and there is a note saying I called for a "narcotic " (just like that) and I was rude. I started to read the rest of it and the nurse flipped it down. She said she was getting the doctor. Dr. Henderson finally comes in and asks why I need pain pills (umm do you not read YOUR charts. Do you not know your patients?). So I told him my endometriosis was flaring up and I believe a cyst had burst. He looks at the note and asks me if I had done the exploratory surgery he wanted to do (umm shouldn't you know if you did surgery on me?). I said no I was waiting for an answer about a question I had. He leaves the room. He comes back and asks if I had my chart. Uh no! Why would I? Then he has my husband and I follow him to the open area where his desk is, they weigh patients and the check out area is. Not a very confidential area if you ask me. So then he asks when I want to schedule the surgery. After his bad vibes I don't know if I want him to do surgery on me, I am not sure I want the surgery and I need to save up for my co pay. So I say two months. He stopped what he was doing, literally dropped the pen and said "excuse me two months?" I told him I needed to save money for the surgery. He then looked at my husband and said "people who are in pain don't wait to months to schedule". When my husband agreed we didn't have the money. He told me I need to find a new doctor, slammed my file closed, and slid it to the side. My husband and I walked out dumbfounded. I was going to find a new doctor anyway but to be treated like a drug addict and chastised because I didn't have money for an exploratory surgery is uncalled for.
