| - I wanted to treat myself to a fun gel manicure and decided to give this place a try.
I looked through the photos posted on yelp by other customers and even on Nail Candy's Facebook and Instagram, and noticed that most of the beautiful designs were done by a technician named Hope. I called on a Friday asking for a same day appointment with Hope, but the receptionist curtly informed me that Hope was booked all day, and that the next available appointment would be on Saturday.
I came in on Saturday early for my appointment, but still had to wait 20 minutes past my appointment time, even though the salon was empty. Furthermore, my appointment was not with Hope (she went out to get food), but with a technician named Felicia.
During my nail appointment, the techs were all chatting about their love interests and were using vulgar language. I would not recommend bringing a child here.
Beyond this, my actual nail art was STUNNING. I've received so many compliments on my nails. Felicia helped me choose the exact shape and design I wanted, right down to the colors. She seemed very excited to do the design I chose and was extremely friendly throughout the process. Although it took about an hour to complete, my nails looked gorgeous, AND they've lasted an absurd amount of time (FIVE WEEKS -- They even lasted through all the heavy lifting involved in moving into a new apartment. They're very grown out, but at this point I just want to see how long they'll last before starting to chip.)
I did end up paying a pretty penny for them: $48 without tip.
Overall, the customer service and price leaves something to be desired, but the finished product is everything you could ask for.
