| - I've been here twice for dinner. The first time for a regular dinner one year ago, the second time yesterday for a restaurant week dinner. I thought the first time I had a fairly solid meal and most of the options were quite tasty. I would award my first visit 3.5 stars. The second time was a disaster and I would give it a generous 2 stars. I will mostly focus on this last experience as it is more recent and carries more weight. For restaurant week, the place offered a menu with a choice an appetizer, main course, dessert. No regular menu. I'm ok with this. The waitress came to pick our order. We were fairly confident about our choices for appetizer and first course so we ordered those and said we would decide the dessert later. The waitress said, "No we are taking your full order now". We are "Ok we'll pick these 2". This wasn't great, but oh well. Let's get to the food.
My wife got the (smoked?) salmon for the appetizer. It was bad. Chewy, fishy, poorly dressed, tiring. I got the turnip soup. Nothing amazing, but not bad. For the main course, my wife got the artichoke lemon risotto. Pretty bad, not even sure where the artichoke was. I got the lamb shoulder. Tiiiiiiiiiny portion, smaller than my appetizer. It was just some shaved dry meat on top of some (cold) polenta. Really bad. The two main courses were cheap-cafeteria-level. The dessert: the chocolate panna cotta wasn't bad, but the orange chiffon cake was dry, chewy, and tasteless.
Will I go back to Harvest? Hopefully no.
