Had dinner with another couple. Used a "preferred dining card". Every restaurant on the card we have been to deducts not the most expensive item, but the next most expensive. They never deduct the least expensive item. Sassi decided that the items my wife and I ordered had to be used for the card - although the card is not specific to who can utilize the card. $6 difference on a $200 bill. Mentioned this to the waitress, she spoke to manager who said this is how they do it. Then they had the audacity to charge all of us 20% gratuity. Why should my friends, whose items were excluded from the bogo offer, be obligated to tip 20%. If I had paid for the entire dinner, shouldn't I have been entitled to not having the "least" expensive item removed.
I even went so far as to call the manager on the way home, explaining how I was quite surprised that they would rather lose a customer (I had been there a handful of times) over a $6 differential. Manager was completely unresponsive - surprising that he is actually a manager. Will never return - terrible customer service.
In response to inaccurate reply by manager:
If there are 4 meals ordered at the table, the 2nd price item should be the "bogo" item, not the least expensive of the 4 items ordered. You are not following the cards policy. And to quibble and bicker over a $6 differential on a $200 bill shows a complete lack of respect for customers. Look at how many reviews are negative for this restaurant lately. Complete disconnect from customer service.
