  • Bloom is one of those bakeries where everything tastes as good as it looks. Every item is impeccably decorated and presented and, thus far in my sampling of their bakery case, invariably delicious. One of the things I love about Bloom's baked goods is that many are lighter than you expect, so you can go HAM on a treat and not want to lie curled in a shame ball ten minutes later. Treat breakdown: 1) Whoopies. I would eat a bucket of the frosting. Seriously. Can I get a layer cake frosted and filled with the whoopie filling? 2) Vegan/GF cookie whoopie. Probably the richest thing I've had from Bloom, which is hysterical considering there's no butter/cream/eggs. I detected a bit of coconut, so I'm going to venture a guess that coconut oil plays a role. It's a wonderful flavor profile. While I can take down a traditional whoopie no questions asked, it took me two servings to demolish this one. 3) Sea salt caramel brownie. Surprisingly light; I would have expected something more fudgy but the lighter chocolate balanced with the salty caramel. On my most recent trip I ordered a combination of "regular" and "dietary restriction" items and was kindly asked if they could be packaged together. That's definitely a nice touch to not have to make the request if that's something that matters to you. In addition to the wonderful items for sale, the shop is cute as a button and fully lives up to its shop around the corner location. There were several regulars and everyone in line was treated like they were an old friend. With service like that, it's no wonder that there was a line out the door mid-morning on a weekday.
