| - Stayed here two weeks ago for a trip to Phoenix to see the Cleveland Indians play the Arizona Diamondbacks. The location was fantastic. The location itself earned one star, this would have otherwise been a 3 star rating.
This hotel offers either self parking for $12 (if you don't take your car out of the garage while you stay) or valet for $23 a night. Although, I believe those rates changed recently. The front desk experience was OK. I was checked in and then sent away with no direction of where to go and no comment on my package booked. I had purchased breakfast at their terrace restaurant in the morning for two and was hoping to find out where it was and how it was charged. I had to interrupt the guest service rep from taking another guest to ask him about those two items and it made things kind of awkward.
The room was average. Bed was comfortable, but nothing over the top. It was really clean.
In the morning we were awakened by housekeeping at about 8:15am. That was a bit strange. When we checked out I asked the front desk agent if that was normal and they responded "yes, they usually start knocking on doors around 7:00am." WHAT?! 7:00am? I have never stayed anywhere in my life that housekeeping comes knocking at 8:15am, let alone 7:00am.
Anyhow, when we went to breakfast it was OK. We both had the buffet for $17.99. Normal eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, oatmeal, etc. Kind of on the expensive side for a hotel breakfast buffet. The only real downfall to breakfast was it being right next to an apparent banquet room. It so happened that the Sunday morning we were there they were having some sort of kids dance contest. You would have thought it was a Coachella knockoff with the amount of terrible bass ridden noise coming out of the room. It was so loud we actually felt bad for the kids who had to be in their dancing.
Other than those few hiccups it was an OK stay. The location was really the big deal maker. It was very close to everything downtown.
