This company is truly a case of style vs. substance. Fancy icing, expensive prices. I am not sure what all the whoopla is about. I have purchases cupcakes from here on a number of occasions. For the most part, these cupcakes are no different than the fancier varieties at some of the supermarkets (with the exception of the inflated price). There is variety (if you go early enough) and the cake part is decent, but no "WOW!"
The exception was the limited edition lemon meringue which would have led to up my rating if only they didn't discontinue it. If all the cupcakes were of this calibre then they would be worthy of a five.
I think the mini size is a nice option for a large group or for those of us who are not 21 and can't afford to eat a full-sized Crave-calorie-laden cupcake, however when it came to picking up a special treat for my youngest son's class I opted for Bliss Cupcakes instead. Not better, but totally peanut and tree nut free. I am not sure why Crave would not do the same as so many schools have nut policies.
