My husband and I love wineries. We try to go to a winery or a tasting room whenever we travel. I am starting to get into red wines now so I am searching for the perfect one. Yelp and gps here we come. On our 13 city tour of Arizona, Scottsdale made the list. It is about 30 minutes from Phoenix (with our driving) and I felt like we had just travelled into a richer more conservative part of Arizona. There is Neiman Marcus, Dillard's, Saks and a few high priced department stores. The area said we have more money than Phoenix. Even the gas prices were 20 cent more. We essentially thought we were going to a winery but it ended up being a tasting room.
When we arrived, they apparently had just opened. The lovely lady explaining the wines to us had not yet finalized her morning routine. We were ok with that considering the place is beautiful. Wonderful artwork and décor, it was just so relaxing. The music was right on point with a little jazz bluesy ambiance. We decided to do a tasting of 4 wines. All the wines were pretty good but I bought one red that was really good.
The manager came in towards the end of our visit and she was soooo sweet. Her name was so easy but it fails me right now. I want to say Beverly. She was just incredible. She told us all about Arizona and gave us some hot spots to travel too. Right before we walked out the door, the owner Peggy walked in. Very pleasant lady. Each time I am in Arizona, I will stop at this place for great wine and conversation.
