I went to college not far from the Manor, it was a nice bike ride away. We went here every few weeks to see a movie. They have always had a nice mix of blockbusters and smaller independent films. When I was in college the theatre looked a bit rundown and I always thought they looked like they were about three days away from closing down. Now we live much farther away and we only see one or two movies a year at the Manor. We went in to see Skyfall this weekend and I was taken aback. They have completely gutted and remodeled the place! It was so posh in comparison to what it used to be! All of the wall were repainted, the lighting replaced, the seats, the lobby, everything (except the bathrooms) had been totally redone! When I asked about it the guy working the ticket counter told me they had remodeled over the summer. I love the Manor. It feels like it's part of another era. The only real complaint I have is that the walls are a tad thin in the middle theatres so you can hear the noise from the movie next door. Even that complaint is a bit minor because you get that almost everywhere.
Also with the remodel they've added a bar where you can get an adult beverage if that is more your speed. I'm not a drinker so I can't comment on selection/price but it is there to explore.
I voted that this place is good for kids BUT I would like to add that they don't frequently carry kid movies. I know I saw Madagascar there a million years ago but I can't remember regularly seeing kids films advertised. If you can get one it's a good place to take the kids on an afternoon.
