Lavelle is the place to be seen, especially in the summer when the outdoor pool area is open.
We came here with some hesitation, given some extremely negative reviews on here and on various other sites, on allegations of discrimination. I am pleased to say I did not get that impression from my visit - I believe the wait staff here are pretty representative of the Toronto population and diverse. Patrons here are pretty dressy and I was very casually dressed, and the staff here did not make me feel uncomfortable.
We ordered the pork belly benedict, and the classic breakfast. Both were quite tasty, and I especially liked the relish that was underneath the pork belly, which give it a surprising taste as I had not expected it. My companion enjoyed the sausage that was in his classic breakfast.
Prices here are a few dollars more than your standard brunch place, but keep in mind you are dining at the very top floor of a nice residential building, and for the very nice swanky modern décor. We did not feel the pricing was unjustified.
I look forward to having dinner here at some point.
