| - Night out with family & friends and it was just your ordinarily OUTSTANDING evening at the Cowfish. The family absolutely loves The Cowfish and now is the best time of the year to visit. Why you ask? GOBBLE-GOBBLE USHI!...
...It sounds gimmicky right? I remember my first encounter with it about three years ago and I said to myself "OK I'll get it to try it, but it can't be as good as a real turkey dinner..." Boy was I WRONG! Roasted turkey, fried green beans, holiday stuffing all inside a soy wrapper. Thin sweet potato strings wrapped around the roll and flash fried. Topped with more green bean, cranberry sauce, and gravy... I was telling Chris the manager tonight how if they were open on Thanksgiving, we'd just drive to the restaurant! Outstanding flavor and perfect harmony. Textures are what really have the potential go wrong with all these different ingredients, but they've executed everything thoroughly and it has an amazing contrast between crunchy and soft!
This is a bit backwards, but let me talk about tonight's appetizer: Blackened Tuna Nachos. Everything about this dish takes each individual element and amps the quality to world-class. The best tuna served rare and just seared on the surface, crunchy and rich pita-like chip, crab rangoon dip, outstanding guacamole, and finished with micro-greens, tomato and onions. Each individual component is a superstar all on it's own, but put them together and it's straight magic!
Our service was impeccable. Chris stopped by the table at the beginning and the end of the dinner service and is definitely adept on ensuring the guest experience is top notch. Our waitress Maggie was as good as it gets with a prompt greeting as we sat down and getting our food out with what seemed like almost no wait between courses. Speaking of wait, they told us about a 30min wait when we got there and it ended up being less than 10! What more could you ask for?
We got desserts to go, absolutely stuffed with the appetizer and entree. Again, there's a reason out of all my reviews (102 as of this update), Cowfish is still #1 in my book!
