I was in Max Bell to watch the Walrus Debate - Calgary Cowbow Culture: Living Legacy? or Just History? I found it to be a great mid sized theatre with great acoustics. The maximum capacity is 750 people. The floor seating is in the middle and is surrounded by three balconies. My seat was G 101, which means that it was the first seat in the row on the left. The G 200 seats are in the middle of the row and the G 300 seats are on the right of the theatre. The acoustics were wonderful and there was no problem getting a view of the stage where I was from.
The only complaint I have was that it was a little confusing when first entering the theatre. I wasn't too sure which door led to where and I can't remember them being marked well. However, the ushers were very helpful sorting this out.
There is also a nice lobby space for patrons to congregate to once the performance is over. Calgary is lucky to have so many great, world-class theatres. Go see a show and keep art and culture alive in this city!
