  • As far as ballparks go, Rogers is a bit sterile with its miles and miles of concrete. However, its sheer size is magnificent and takes away greatly from the feeling of sitting in an enclosed box. I have seen games at Miller Park and Minute Maid, and those just don't feel like venues meant for baseball. As far as domes go, Rogers is numero uno (haven't tried Safeco yet though). Other notes: + The location elevates everything. It is perfect, in the heart of downtown near the water and right next to the CN Tower. + The sightlines are below average but not bad. If you have decent seats you will have a good view. + The food is mostly ballpark staples, but the signature stop is a poutine shop with multiple savory and sweet options. For me it was the brisket poutine. Oh baby. The portion was solid, and the food was delicious - it did not taste like cafeteria quality at all like many ballpark dishes. Poutine is a Canadian treasure, so don't miss it. + The crowd on Friday night in May was packed, raucous, and really into the game. I was impressed. The fans were enthusiastic and supporting their team despite the standings. + They have one of the most distinctive home run features in baseball: a loud hockey horn. All I wanted going in was to hear the horn, and thankfully the Jays obliged twice, including a grand slam. + Bonus points for Ace, the crazy blue mascot. A giant stuffed bird pumping up the crowd? Why not. + The beer selection is pretty mediocre, even by ballpark standards, so your best bet is a large bud bar on the first level concourse serving up Goose Ipa and several other bud owned options. + Outside offers plenty of great photo ops. At night, the roof glows a soft purple, it is really beautiful. Get the CN Tower in the shot, and you've got a winner there.
