  • I'm not a fan of Starbucks. I have no idea how to order at these places especially because I try to avoid all the syrups they tend to use to sweeten their drinks. I ordered a (soy) macchiato with 2 shots of espresso... but it wasn't the fix I wanted. So I went back to order what a friend had recommended me to try for my taste. A venti quad espresso, 6 pumps of white mocha and whipped cream, and ice. Even though they didn't make the wrong drink, I didn't ask for a refund, nor did I complain about the drink I ordered. The gentleman said he'd only ring me up for only 2 shots of espresso because he knew I wasn't happy with the first drink I ordered. WHAT?! You mean he actually cared? The reason I avoid corporate chains is for exactly this. They don't care for customers and they stick to all "corporate rules." So I was surprised that he acknowledged my dissatisfaction for the drink I ordered, even though it wasn't their fault. It really is just coffee, right? But, when companies can put value on their customers "dollar" it makes for a better experience and repeat customer. It speaks volumes of their Customer Service. I've learned to make the kind of strong coffee I enjoy at home, from simple drinks like the Cuban espresso "cafe con leche" to Vietnamese drip coffee. I'd still much rather support a local coffee shop because the customer service is more personal but I can say that I was very happy w/my experience and the 2nd drink I ordered afterwards too. This location has no drive-thru and it seemed very dark inside. Their displays all looked unorganized and they had lots of empty shelves (but wasn't surprised considering it's the week after Christmas). The two young men that were there seemed to work well together with the traffic they had.
