am writing this review based on the chance that you only live once...and with that and after having visited many cities in the USA I decided Pittsburgh is to be my new home and with that I need to find the perfect house. (shout out to Yelps trusty app easy peasy find the good food in this great city)
So if your buying a house you can make yourself crazy looking at listings from various brokers craigs even fsob. BUT why in my own personal opinion bother with any of that
Find your self a good real estate agent who will work with you to find the home of your dreams.
Start off being honest with yourself as to exactly where, what and how much you want to spend then go find yourself a real estate agent to help you. Then be honest with the agent as to what your looking for and price. Don't waste anyone's time looking at 600k houses when you can only afford 400. On the other hand I wasted time attempting to talk to another broker and she was like come back after your house is sold really? come on I'm not going to sell my other house before I picked out my new house does that make sense???and yeah sorry I can't afford the 700k houses your selling.
There were so many things I realized I needed to know before I attempted to buy a house that is over 100 years old. Like a camera down a sewer line. Or how to figure out how much YOUR taxes will be compared that low number you see in listings.
By the luck of the draw I was handed off to Bobby West of Coldwell Banker on Forbes
this guy knows the ins and outs of Pittsburgh and its neighborhoods.
Took me to see houses that were perfect. Never pushy or said a house was perfect. Actually pointed out why certain houses would not be a good fit for me and my family. Put in a bid on a house with a bunch of contingencies that would protect me.
Be smart my yelping friends; agents make money selling houses BUT you can also use an agent to broker / find a house. It is a win win for you and the agent.
Do your self a favor ask for Bobby's help and live happily ever after in the great city of Pittsburgh.
