| - For over 10 years dealing with a devastating auto immune condition and countless visits to doctors, specialists, and the emergency room, where my wife was on the brink of death, enough was enough. We were frustrated with our medical system in Canada and standard treatment protocols were NOT working.
My wife, son and I travelled from Canada to Arizona (which was not easy with a sick wife and young 2 year old) or the financial strain something like this puts on your family. BUT my wife's livelihood was most important and for our son to have a healthy mother.
We came to Sunridge Medical where upon arrival were treated like no other care facility it was a breathe of fresh air. It was warm and we were received with open arms, not like most places we've gone to, where it was take a number and have a seat, rude secretaries and arrogant doctors with no time for you.
Once we met with Dr. Franco it was a consult that was like no other. We weren't looked down upon or felt like we were to rush through discussing what was wrong with my wife, so the doctor could just write another prescription to send us on our way! What was obvious from the get go was Dr. Franco actually listened in detail to EVERYTHING we were going through, symptoms, various drugs my wife was prescribed, we spent hours discussing everything and we actually had a two way conversation that was very informative and educating for both sides.
After review we decided to run some tests that Dr. Franco recommended which we discovered and affirmed why my wife was feeling the way she was. We began treatment and I witnessed first hand my wife come back to life. It was remarkable. Two weeks prior to this we were in the emergency room in Canada, my wife under 100lbs and I honestly thought it was a matter of time before I was going to loose her.
Going through treatment in Arizona had its ups and downs- one day she was severely sick and others she was full of life, energy etc. but by the time we got on the plane back to Canada she was on the road to recovery.
ARMED with tests results and knowledge we learned with Dr. Franco, we went back to Canada to see our family doctor. Within a week we were sent to an endocrinologist who was in shock that her iron tests were so severely low and who couldn't believe this was missed for over 10 years and that my wife was still alive. She was immediately put on iron IV therapy at the hospital.
For a few months back and forth from Canada to Sunridge Medical and the expertise and determination of Dr. Franco to look beyond the diagnosis from the Canadian doctors allowed my wife to get her life back, enjoy our son and now is back exercising and the 24/7 job of being a wonderful mother !
We can't thank Dr. Franco enough and the team at Sunridge for turning my wife and our families life around. It was worth all the sacrifices!!
