| - pros:
- probably the best burger i've ever had
- unique toppings
- wood charcoal grill
- fast service
- friendly owner
cons:
- cash only
- cold customer service
burgers alone, the chuck box takes the cake. they've perfected wood-fired grilling and manage to cook the meat to the right amount of juicy every time. they have ortega chilis that are to die for, bacon circles, pineapple, and anything else you could want on a burger. their chicken sandwiches are good, especially with teriyaki, but don't compare to their burgers.
by and large, though a couple staff members are amiable and talkative (especially the owner), the customer service is unfriendly, and even borders on rude. the restaurant exudes a pretty palpable sense of toxic masculinity, amplified by the western glorification theme, and this mentality seems to be adopted by some staff members. in terms of your experience here, this becomes relevant in the differences in respect they show toward men and women; my mom is never treated the same as my dad. an unfortunate and completely avoidable situation, but one that seems only to be perpetuated by their new hires.
one last note: they only take cash, but have an ATM inside. would strongly recommend for a quick bite while in the ASU area.
