| - Hard to say "no" to shopping.
I've been putting off "me time" shopping for a long time now. Mostly because we were in the midst of saving for the house and now that I am not working. I didn't think it should be a priority. When I was still employed, there were a handful of items that I wanted/needed...more like wanted to purchase before I stop receiving a paycheck.
Only because D told me to get out of the house and enjoy the afternoon shopping, I accepted. I thought I'd window shop but actually picked up a few tops and accessories. Still need a few more items (jacket, handbag, shoes, etc) but that's on hold until next month. :)
I checked out the Chandler Fashion Center which is ranked as one of the top retail destinations out here. Of course, it follows Fashion Square at Scottsdale and Biltmore Fashion Park. After living in Newport Beach, CA surrounded by the top retail destinations of Southern California, I found myself a bit spoiled by the luxury. So reality hit me this afternoon when I pulled up to the Mall. This mall did not meet my expectations as I assumed it could. I was hoping to see more designer shops to compare it to some of the CA malls. It felt short of that expectation. But it was not a complete loss. They had the standard shops like The Loft, Guess, Nordstroms, Arden B, Aldo, etc. which is great for the Diva on a budget. It was the equivalent of the Burbank Mall or the Glendale Galleria minus the Urban Outfitters and some others. I guess if I wanted bourgeois I could trek up to Scottsdale or Phoenix. For now, Chandler Fashion Center shall do.
