I searched around to find a car wash that offered hand rubbed service. I asked several questions before I entered the car wash to make sure it was what I wanted, and got the $20 "deluxe" wash. I noticed with concern the violence with which the attendant slammed my rear view mirrors flush against the car- when I started toward him, he told me they had to be closed so that the cleaning mechanism wouldn't knock them off. Okay, understandable but that wasn't really why I started walking over-so I just walked to the end of the wash cycle. In about 3 seconds- the men had already worked halfway through the car on their "hand rub"- I picked up a towel and went over what they'd done until they told me I couldn't. The only vacuuming they did was the flat seat of the front- lifted the car mat on the passenger side- left it folded in disarray- and vacuumed NOTHING inside- and didn't even bother to pretend to even shake out the car mats- the windows were barely touched- the back window looked worse than when I'd entered as it was all smeared. Even the manager came over and cleaned the side window because there was a big smear left- it all took less than a minute. In an uncharacteristic move- I didn't tip them.
I left and drove next door to the Dunkin Donuts where I got some coffee. (The girl who waited on me got a dollar for my $3 iced coffee) While there I readjusted my side mirrors (electronically) and the passenger side mirror just fell off! And my driver side mirror doesn't work at all now. I drove right back and the manager attached it and said they weren't responsible. What a ripoff! 20 bucks down the tube.
