  • I would give no stars if I could. The employees here are absolutely uneducated. I walked into the store with the intent of purchasing a prepaid gift card. I put $60 on a gift card and was told by the employee at money services that the funds would be immediately available for usage. She mentioned she was unsure of the particulars on the card and to save my receipt. I wanted to double check I purchased the right thing so I stopped by customer service on the way out and received the same response. I then walked out the store and opened the card to utilize the funds. Prior to using the card you must register online. This was not told to me when purchasing the card.. there was no instructions from the employee aside from "the funds will be available, immediately". What the employee sold me was not a prepaid gift card.. it was a Visa Walmart debit card that required far too much personal info such as my social security number. I have NEVER had to enter personal information or register a gift card before. Minutes and I mean minutes.. after purchasing the card I walked right back into the store and noticed customer service that I was sold the wrong item. I requested a prepaid gift card at customer service and then was told that they don't sell prepaid gift cards because of theft purposes... are you kidding me. I was annoyed that I was sold something falsely by the employee. I then requested a refund as I had just paid cash for this card not even 5 mins earlier. The store manager mark came over and said he wouldn't be able to give me a refund and that he would call the issuer of the card. He handed the phone over to me and had me speak with the customer service rep of the card company. The woman on the line proceeded to tell me that my refund "check" would arrive within 2 weeks. Are you insane!? Two weeks when I just bought the card with CASH five mins prior. I am livid right now.. LIVID. So I explain the situation to Mark the Walmart manager and there is nothing he can do for me he says. This Walmart needs to educate their incompetent employees on what they are selling to customers as they don't have a damn clue what the F they are doing! Beyond annoyed. This is insane!
