  • Ove the course of the last 10 years, due to recurring treatment at St Joes hospital across the street, I've patronized Sacks many times. In my experience, they've lost ground over the years. Don't get me wrong, it's an ok place to grab a quick sandwich and beats the heck out of fast food. But as delis go it's not up to the caliber of other local establishments. They have a decent variety of sandwiches and, for the most part, their ingredients are quality. Unfortunately, the weakest part of their offerings is the key ingredient: the lunchmeat. Not only have I seen a drop off in the quality of the meat but the quantity seems to have dropped as well. My three most recent visits have yielded small portions of meat. The formerly lean, rare roast beef has been replaced by well done stuff reminiscent of pre-packaged. The turkey has been dry and sub par. Because it's such a busy place I can accept that tables aren't always clean and ready, but a roast beef sandwich at their price point shouldn't be more filler than meat. I'm sorry to see the decline. For convenience I'm sure they'll stay in my rotation but Scott's Generations, Mile High Deli and a couple others will be the choice when the opportunity presents itself.
