7/23/2011 - we found an '99 Acura MDX on the Infiniti of Scottsdale website and made contact with sales person. The sales person was a nice enough guy but wasn't totally upfront with us when it became time for paperwork. We instructed Bob that we had financing already and not to run our credit as our personal banker was taking care of the loan - they did anyway and provided us loan options we didn't ask for. Watch this. The other item of concern is the two "extra" fees 1) Acid Rain Paint Coating (called something else), really? 2) DOC fee of nearly $500. When I asked what the Doc fee was I was simply told "it was standard", sort of like the answer i give my 8 year old "I said so". After looking up DOC fees on the net (suggest you do before paying it) it appears its just a way to add more to the contract and the internet suggests you should pay no more than $100. Over all, we got the car we wanted at a fair price (except for the DOC fee) and got a good trade-in value on our previous vehicle. Positive: Friendly, fairly priced, good trade in. Negative: Not upfront with facts, too many fees, ran credit / prepared loan without permission, tried to add too many "extras" as standard.
Recommendation: I would just suggest arriving prepared with someone that understands the contract paperwork.
