  • I called to possibly schedule a second opinion for my cat who is very critical and was thinking he may need to be put down. We have a pet rat who was a patient here, so I thought why not reach out to them about my cat as well. My cat has been to the ER and to another vet on many occasions over the past few weeks. I was running out of options and wanted to chat with the Dr. to see if he thought it was worth it to bring him in, and basically explain the situation to him to see if there was anything he could even offer that hadn't already been done. The person who answered the phone was very short with me and rude. He said, "well I'll give him a message and ask him to call you back. But he can't give advice over the phone without seeing your cat." I explained that my cat had been to many vet appointments and was pretty tapped out, but that is why I wanted to speak with the dr. to see if he thinks I should bring him in and offer anything that hadn't already been done. Well, of course no one called back. So I gave it one more try and called again to see if they had passed my message along. The person who answered the phone once again said that the dr. could not give advice over the phone. And I again explained the situation again, he put me on a hold and came back and said the same thing... the dr. refused to speak with me over the phone. So I hung up. I called another vet who was more than willing to chat with me on the phone. In critical cases, or any case for that matter, if the vet can't even take a few minutes to have a phone chat, that is just awful. To me it screams arrogance and just plain lack of compassion. As for the visit with my rat, he recommended some medication which I ended up coming to get a few days later. He made a comment when I was there picking it up and said, "...yeah we wouldn't want the infection to spread to his lungs or organs, he'd for sure be gone then!" Wow! Really??!! If you are looking for a doctor who is kind and compassionate then steer clear of Arbor Ridge Pet Clinic. But if you are looking for an arrogant prick with no compassion as a veterinarian, please by all means... Arbor Ridge is the place for you!
