First I'd like to say that I appreciate their awareness of gf, and offer desserts that are labeled as such.
I bought the white chocolate truffle "tart" that has a dark chocolate shell. Looked absolutely delicious. My friend took the first bite and made a face. I tried it, and it tasted like it had been in the freezer for too long, or maybe behind the glass for too many days. We agreed that it tasted like freezer burn. I thought it was a shame to go up and ask for my money back. But I couldn't eat it, and it was $5.75. The gal said she couldn't give me my money back because I had taken a bite out of it. So, I got the creme brulee. She torched the top of it and gave it a nice crispy shell. Again, looked delicious. My friend and I both took a spoon full of it, and immediately looked at each other, like - oh my gosh, yuck! It was so sweet, we could hardly finish eating it. Terrible. Now, I have quite a sweet tooth. I can eat sweet and rich desserts when others can't. So, for me to say that a dessert is too sweet, that is something. There was no way I was going to take it back up to the gal because it seemed controversial to take the first one back.
