I bought $3200 worth of carpet from Empire, I used them as a 3rd bid after receiving measurements and bids from Home Depot and Carpets Galore. I was nervous to use them after reading all the negative reviews online but figured I'd have them bid it anyways. They don't have a local office they just send a salesman with all the carpet to your home. I purposely had them come when my wife was not there so I could avoid the high pressure tactics they employ to get a 1 visit close, the guy was not too thrilled that she wasn't there and said I'd lose my discount if he had to come back. I told him that was fine and that I already had 2 bids that were fair and asked him to measure and give me his best price, what he quoted me was better than the others for comparable carpets so I had him come back later that day to have my wife choose the carpet. The installers were great they are not employees of Empire but were contracted for the job. They showed up on time and the carpet looks beautiful. During the install a rep from empire called me to ask if things were going well, the only issue I had was they initially said they would not have enough carpet because the salesman measured short but actually they did and they left a remnant long enough to make a large rug and a runner. Overall happy with the product and end result, 4 stars instead of 5 because of the corny sales tactics they use to get a 1 visit close. "You'll lose your discount if you don't sign today" & "that's lower than I usually go let me call my boss to see if we can do that for you" etc.. If you're not ready to make the decision I'm positive you'll still get the same deal if you call back when you're ready.
