Where my experience fell apart was with the way the system quoted me and instructed the mechanic.
I needed a wheel stud replaced on my car and YourMechanic quoted me $70 bucks and about 30 mins - 1 hour for labor. Too good to be true I thought and apparently my initial thoughts were correct.
My mechanic Milton came to my work as scheduled and took one look at my car and said the entire hub has to come out (which is true because I researched prior). After some pouring through the YourMechanic software on his phone it quoted 4 hours in labor after everything was correctly applied. In the end, Milton couldn't do it and referred me to someone who could. He seemed like a stand up guy and willing to do the job, unfortunately the YourMechanic network misinformed me and him on the job.
Milton eventually had to cancel the appointment and I got a friendly email from YourMechanic stating that I cancelled the appointment and THEY would charge ME $25 for cancelling!
YourMechanic, give me a realistic quote and your mechanics the tools to do the job! This service has a lot of promise.
