I have really mixed feelings on writing this review. Overall they are ok, HOWEVER I am not convinced the "healthy nails" i.e. SNS they offer are all that much healthier than regular gel nail polish. It's fascinating how they dip your nail in the colored powder to achieve the color. I like that it doesn't require UV light to set- that always feels like it's burning my nail bed just slightly. But that's about the only thing I'm convinced that is more healthy about this process than gel nails.
After about 3 weeks they had grown out of course, but they were also chipping horribly so I went in to have them remove it. I'd seen other women in the salon with aluminum foil on the ends of each finger to soak it off so I figured that's what they'd do. Instead they took what looked like an acrylic nail and started popping the polish off each nail and I could DEFINITELY feel it pulling on the nail bed. All the tech said was "tell me if it hurts". This seemed to defeat the point of doing "healthy nails" as I could definitely see damaged spots where it pulled off layers of my nails in places. So I had to kind of make a fuss about that and then they decided they could soak off my other hand with the foil tips. I guess maybe they only soak them off when you're getting a new color put on and if you just want it removed to have your natural nail underneath they don't care as much? Either way I was paying them to remove it so I felt like they should do it RIGHT not trash my nails because I'm not doing another mani...
I will say the woman I sat next to while getting the SNS applied is a regular there and swears by their "healthy nails". She said her nails were never able to grow out before. So this place may be fine if you are a regular and don't ever go without polish, but if you're like me and usually have natural nails while only getting the occasional nail polish, don't be surprised if you're nails are in worse shape after their "healthy nails".
I was really disappointed by this whole thing! Maybe my expectations were too high? But I felt their claims for "healthy nails" was over hyped by a lot. Will I go back? Probably yes the next time I have a special occasion that makes me want a manicure, but this certainly isn't the miracle manicure!
