| - they have real shit staff in the ER, full of people who don't know how to do their jobs.
My mother was taken to the ER on Mothers Day around 9 am after she had a seizure, she wasn't admitted to her hospital room upstairs till 7 pm. In these 10 hours, she wasn't fed, given little information about her condition and uncared for. They paged Dr Watt supposedly around noon, and I didn't see his ass till 5 pm. Are they that under-staffed or does no one grasp the concept of communication here? It must be the under-staff thing, because I was the one who took care of my mother more than the incompetent nurses did. I unhooked/rehooked her up from her machines and helped to her to the bathroom, I made sure she didn't fall when getting up and down, I gave her water, I went and bought her food from the cafeteria when they refused to feed her for 10 hours.
What's worse, her room was ready about 5 pm, I heard the nurses discussing it. But they had failed to do the basic tests needed before moving her and caused her delay for another 2 hours while the nurse tried to figure out how to even do the tests. Maybe if they spent less time flirting with the firefighters that come in, they'd remember what their job entails.
Take your RN name tag and slap yourself with it.
When she was finally admitted to the Neurology center, they took great care of her, but it was ridiculous what she had to ensure in the ER (happy mothers day to her!)
