| - My boyfriend and I have lived at Bayside for four months now. We moved to Phoenix from Michigan at the end of January, so all our apartment shopping had to be done virtually. I read through tons of reviews and kept in mind our criteria: had to be close to work, have a washer and dryer in unit, be in a safe place, and not have scathing reviews. It seems like people only take the time to review a place when they've had a bad run in, so I wanted to take a moment to give Bayside the pat on the back it deserves. At first it was very difficult to get in touch with them, they never returned our calls and would respond once a week to email. Luckily, when we got to town a new management company had taken over, and conditions immediately improved. We had signed our contract before the new management company, so we were worried the new one would try to raise our prices, but that wasn't the case at all. Christina adjusted everything so that we paid exactly what we were told we'd be paying. She thoroughly walked through the lease with us and answered all of our questions. Moving across the country is stressful enough, so having this part of the process be smooth was amazing.
From the pictures I thought the whole living area would be in the plank flooring, which ours wasn't, but I've come to like it more because we don't need to buy a rug for the living room. The plank flooring in the kitchen and bathrooms is a nice touch and makes the apartment feel a touch more fancy. The ceilings are high and I'm so glad to have ceiling fans and a walled in balcony. We sometimes hear our neighbors but it's only every once in awhile, so I'd have to say the walls are decently thick. Our apartment was clean upon move in with everything in working order. We had a few drains that wouldn't drain efficiently, which is where Gene, seriously the friendliest and most competent maintenance worker I've ever met, comes into the picture. I told Christina about our drains on a Friday, and that same day Gene came over with a smile on his face to take care of it. Whenever you see him around the apartment complex he's always waving or chatting with someone, and it really adds to the sense of community. Our neighbors are friendly and the community is well taken care of. Sometimes a little trash or pet waste, but that's to be expected. There are neighborhood kids that play together outside, which I think is sweet to see and hear.
No apartment complex is perfect, there's just no way to cater to all the wants and needs of a bunch of people co-existing in one community, but for the price, area, and perks, I think Bayside was a gem of a find. I love our apartment and feel right at home here. I did four stars instead of 5 because some of our neighbors have had their cars broken into, and the package slip process often fails so we don't always know when we have mail, but those aren't deal breakers for me (we don't keep anything valuable in our car). Thanks to the staff for all your hard work!
