| - We got here Sunday about 3:15 in the afternoon. Wangs was deserted. It's still run by the same, now aging, couple. My friend went to the restroom... like the couple, aging but clean.
I try to sneak in an order of appetizers - pot stickers, egg rolls, and fried wontons. The pot stickers, mostly filled with ground pork, won for me, but that's not saying much... Why settle for bland. Good news - The fried items were crisp, not greasy. The sauce missed the mark. My idea of a decent sauce includes teriyaki sauce, a bit of sesame oil, chili flakes, and something acidic. Does 2 out of 4 count?
My friend and I both got shrimp dishes. She got them with nice crisp, beautifully colored veggies and reasonably (med.) sized shrimp only slightly overcooked. My kung pao's veggies were equally beautiful, the peanuts fresh. There were fewer smaller more overcooked shrimp.
I gave them two stars because, despite the below average food, the service was excellent.
Would I recommend it to you? As my friend just said, "It was clean and I didn't get sick."
