  • I profess, I am not learned on wine. I know that if it has legs, that's considered good, and you aren't supposed to chug it. Aside from that, I'm a novice. I am a fan of the Corkscrew though. For one, its not only wine...there is beer and appetizers to be had as well. Two, there are tvs that are usually tuned to a sporting event. Three, there is often some live music being played in the corner, especially on weekends. And four, it offers a great people-watching vantage point, being smack dab in the middle of Birkdale Village. They also offer some nice weekly specials: Sunday - $6 Mimosas Monday - $2 Blue Moons Tuesday - $4.50 Riesling by-the-glass Wednesday - New by-the-glass specials Thursday - Wine tastings from 6-8 pm, four wines for $5 The interior is small but comfortable, almost coffee house lounge-esque, with bar stools and leather chairs and love seats scattered around. Like I said, I'm no wine aficionado, but I appreciate the style...and the fact that women like wine. That's reason enough for me to visit from time to time!
